It is a community spot equipped with many convenient facilities. It is equipped with an imizu products center, restaurants, a take-out corner, a traffic, weather, and local sightseeing information room, a parking lot, restrooms, and a rest area, allowing visitors to enjoy themselves with peace of mind.
At the Imizu Products Hall, visitors can find processed fish products, salted and dried fish, and famous rice, all of which are specialties of Shinminato, with a particular focus on Toyama’s famous “white shrimp. Visitors can also enjoy traditional festivities such as the Shinminato Hikiyama Festival held every year on October 1, where 13 Hikiyama floats parade through the town as flower floats by day and lantern floats by night.
The festival offers a wide variety of dishes and souvenirs centering on “shiroebi,” or white shrimp, the “jewel of Toyama Bay. At the food corner, visitors can easily enjoy local delicacies such as the famous “Shiroebi Burger,” “Shiroebi Tenmusu,” and “Shiroebi Black Ramen. At the restaurant, visitors can enjoy a variety of authentic dishes such as “Shiroebi Kakiage Donburi Donburi,” which won the first grand prix in the “National Gotochi Donburi Championship,” a rice bowl, a set meal, or a hearty set meal.
In the exhibition area, visitors can observe fish from Toyama Bay and white shrimp up close in a large 5-meter-wide tank that displays white shrimp only from April to October. This is the first time in the world that live white shrimp have been exhibited.
